- Information about the ELO MobileConnector

ELO MobileConnector is not backwards compatible. When using the ELO MobileConnector,
you must use the same version of ELOoffice on all computers that use the product.

When performing a synchronization with the MobileConnector, please note that the short
names of the affected repository folders cannot begin with a ".".
In such cases, correct synchronization cannot be guaranteed.

- Deleting a repository

  1. Delete the following files in the ELO repository data directory:
  - <Repository name>.mdb
  - <Repository name>.edc
  - <Repository name>.eky
  - <Repository name>.ept

2. Delete the directory within the ELO repository data directory:
  - <Repository name>

3. In the Microsoft ODBC Data Source Administrator, delete the
     following User DSNs:
     - ELO32o_<Repository name>
     - ELOFT_<Repository name>

Please note that you must open the 32-bit version of the
ODBC tool (odbcad32.exe) to do this. In 64-bit operating
systems, you can find it in the Windows\SysWOW64 directory.

- Problems when creating a new repository

Because of ODBC (data access) / DAO incompatibilities, it may
occur that a repository cannot be created automatically.

Proceed as follows to create one manually:

  - The data source name has the following syntax:
    ELO32o_<Repository name>

  - Click the button to "Create database"

  - Use the same name for the database as for your repository.
Please make sure the directory is set to your repository data directory.
  Click OK to proceed.

  - Close the Access setup with OK.

Please note that you must open the 32-bit version of the ODBC tool
(odbcad32.exe) to do this. In 64-bit operating systems, you can find
	 it in the Windows\SysWOW64 directory.

  - "Full text ODBC connections ... failed" error message when opening or
  creating repositories.

  Please check:

  - A "BIN" subdirectory must exist in the ELO full text directory.
A file must exist there named "ftei007n.dll".
  - Is this BIN directory also entered to the "Path" environment variable?

- Disable or change the "Ctrl+Alt+A" ELO shortcut

To do this, look for the link to the ELO program (Elo32.exe) in your start menu.

In Windows 2000, for example, it is located at "Documents and settings\All Users\Start\Programs\ELOoffice".
Select "Properties" from the context menu and look for the "Shortcut key" field. Delete the entry
"Ctrl + Alt + A" or change it by pressing another combination of keys.

- Using ELOoffice on a terminal server

If ELO needs to be used in a multi-user operation mode, multiple different
serial numbers must be present. Since the terminal server only knows a
LOCAL_MACHINE area, however, the entry for the serial number must be moved
  to the corresponding CURRENT_USER area.

The various serial numbers are then entered to SerNoV11 (string entry)
  under HKCU\Software\ELO Digital\Elo32.2\Options.

- Update to the language file (UIT) and help file

If the setup directory contains an Elo32.uit, Elo320.uit, or ELOoffice.chm
file, they are copied to the ELO client directory at the end of the installation
process, replacing any files already there with the same name.

- Special configuration required to use full text and OCR on a terminal/Citrix server.

Install the "ELO OCR Service" service by running:
  <ELO directory>\VollText\Bin\EloOcrSrv.exe -install
Please make sure that the account used to run the service must have access
to the Postbox directories from all users.

An entry must also be made to the registry that points to a temp directory
(which can be the standard temp directory if you wish), in order to allow
data exchange between ELO and the OCR software:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ELO Digital\Elo32.1\Fulltext\OcrTempDir=
  <A temporary directory>

- Joining or splitting pages in PDF documents

This function can only be guaranteed for PDFs scanned into ELO and then converted
to PDF with the ELO PDF printer. For all PDF documents generated in another way,
such as those created directly by the scanner, unrestricted functioning cannot be guaranteed.

In other words: Only PDFs generated with the ELO PDF printer from documents previously scanned
into ELO can definitely use the split/join functions; it may not work for other PDFs.

- Manual ELOoffice uninstall

If an uninstall fails, it usually does so for two reasons: Either the installation is not
complete - and/or the user does not have sufficient rights in Windows.

Expert Windows users (if you are unsure, do not attempt!) can uninstall the demo version
in steps as follows (please keep the specified order!):

  - Uninstall the macros via Start, Programs, ELOoffice, Tools
  - Delete the ELO TIFF and PDF printers (Start - Control Panel - Devices and Printers)
  - Delete the ELO installation directory (by default: C:\Program Files (x86)\elooffice)
If the Eloshl.dll file is locked by the system and does not allow you to delete it,
you must rename it, restart the computer, then delete it.

  - Delete all registry entries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ELO Digital\ELO32.2
If only ELOoffice was in use, the entire "ELO Digital" key can be deleted.
  - Delete all registry entries within HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ELO Digital\ELO32.2
If only ELOoffice was in use, the entire "ELO Digital" key can be deleted.
  - Delete the registry entry (if it exists)
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\ELOArchive
  - Delete the registry entry (if it exists)
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\ELO Archive Transfer
  - Delete the registry entries for the uninstallation at:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
  - Delete all registry entries with the GUID key entered for ELOoffice under Uninstall.

  - Delete the folder: Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information\<GUID>
  - Delete the desktop links to ELOoffice
  - Delete the ELOoffice program group.
  - Delete the ELOoffice link in Explorer in the Windows "SendTo" directory
  - Delete the ODBC entries (User DSN and/or System DSN) ELO32o_* and EloFT_*
